I have always loved Patsy Cline so I decided to play "Crazy" here--just because!

ONLINE AWARDS:

17 February 2006 I received a wonderful note saying this site was selected to receive this award:

On 26 July 2004 I opened my email and found a note from Rev Dr Wayne E May, the webmaster of the Bradley Beach New Jersey Volunteer Fire Department. A link to Wayne's website is listed below. His department chose my site to receive their 2004 award so I proudly post it here:

On 1 July 2004 I received a wonderful letter from a woman I met in 2003. Janet O'Reilly Herron has her own website and helps others with theirs. I helped her a couple of years ago to find information about her brother who had served in Vietnam. We became friends through that and also her love of the Fire Departments. She selected me to receive this award:

Roberts Publishing sent me this award as my site is one of their favorites. Thank you very much to them and their Sales Rep--Joyce McVey.

On 28 January 2003 I received a wonderful note which said:

The Vietnam Experience website and Vietnam Veteran Support Network Board wants to recognize your wonderful efforts at promoting and preserving the history of the Vietnam experience. You honor all veterans with your writings. Now we wish to honor your work, including your contributions at calling attention to Martha Raye.

Proudly display this website award on any and all of your websites. This award is given on this day - January 28, 2003 to the Noonie Fortin Website

On behalf of the entire staff and Board of the Vietnam Experience,

Rev. Bill McDonald

On St. Patrick's Day 2000 I was searching the Internet for information about Sharon Lane. I came across a wonderful site that honored Sharon as well as other women and men. The woman who made the site has done a wonderful job with her graphics. Please be sure to visit Jules Patriotic Pages: She Served Too. I signed Jules' Guestbook and thanked her for having this great site. Before the night was over I received this award from her for my "Dedication" as well as for my serving and "still serving" with her thanks.

I was so pleased when Denisse notified me on 10 April 1998 that my site was selected to receive her award--saying my page was created nicely.

PERSONAL AWARDS:

I went to Philadelphia to speak at the Naval Support Activity's Veterans Day ceremony held on 10 November 2005 at which time I received this beautiful plaque:

On 7 April 2001 I spoke at the Women Who Served display/museum tent in Tampa, FL. Upon completing my session I was handed a beautiful certificate from the woman who arranged this special day--Linda "Scooter" Watson.

I was selected to receive the Arts & Media Award for 1999-2000 from the Tennessee State Council Vietnam Veterans of America Region Three for my ongoing efforts to pass along information about our women Veterans. The presentation was made during their convention in Chattanooga on 3 June 2000. I am very honored to be selected for this award. AND I'm in good company as actor John Dye who portrayed "Doc Hoc" in the television series "Tour of Duty" has also received this award in the past as did Veteran and singer Jerry Hayes. In March 1999 I was surprised when I received a notice from American Biographical Institute requesting that I complete an application to be included in their edition of 2000  Notable American Women. That book was released in the Summer of 2000. I also received a beautiful plaque showing the information. Here is the thumbnail picture of it--just click on it to go to the full size photo:
