PetsThis page was last updated on 1 February 2008.
You should be listening to "The Birds and the Bees" while you check out these pictures. I travel quite a bit and recently I came across a website pet lovers and travelers will really like. This site provides you with routes and hotels along your route that are pet friendly so check out Pets Welcome. I have had many pets during my life. Here is my most recent addition. Socks--is a little boy named for his white feet. He was barely 5 weeks old when he was handed to me. AND he stays close to me most of the time. Talk about imprinting! I was staying in Virginia at the time at Pam's. Photo by Noonie Fortin. He is growing like a weed. These pictures were taken by me the day he turned 2 months old: Socks has been growing by leaps and bounds. He has filled out his long lanky body. Here's some photos of him taken in December 03, April 04 (as he and Pam's dog Josh look out the window) and May 04 (when he turned one year old) and he was just hanging out on the sofa. He loved that sofa! Photos by Noonie Fortin. Like I said Socks is a growing boy. He no longer fits on my lap the way he did when he was real little but he still likes to sleep on his back! Here are some photos I took in January '05. The bed he is laying on measures 25" corner to corner. He is definitely all legs and body but not fat. Even though he weighs about 13 pounds now he still looks very thin but you can tell he is heavy when you pick him up. I can't believe he'll be 2 in May! Photos by Noonie Fortin. Socks turned two in May 2005. He was being cute as usual so I took some more photos of him. Photos by Noonie Fortin. Here are some photos of the cats I had while living in Texas, Kansas and Georgia. These three came from the same litter. They had been born in a soldier's garage who when he caught them took them to the local adoption agency where I got them. Photos by Noonie Fortin. Kira--is named after Kira Noris on "Star Trek: The Next Generation": Maddy--is named after Maddy Hayes on "Moonlighting": Sully--is named after Byron Sully on "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman": Here are pictures of the cats I had from 1976 till 1992 while living in New York: Karen and I got Gay Mary and Sappho Elizabeth from the Albany County Animal Shelter in 1976. They were from the same litter and we didn't want to separate them. Good thing too! I'm sure you can figure out why we named them the way we did. Gay is on the left while Sappho is on the right. Photos by Noonie Forin. We inherited Sabrina Duncan and Ledga Ann in 1977. Maybe inherited isn't the right word. Actually Ledga (on the left) was found on the window ledge of the apartment above us stuck between the window and screen on a very hot day. That's how she got her name. We climbed a ladder and got her out of there. The owner didn't even know she was missing from the apartment. When we tried handing her back to the owner, she handed us Sabrina (on the right) so we took them both into our own little apartment and kept them. She was named after Kate Jackson's character from the TV "Charlie's Angels" show. Naturally Gay and Sappho weren't too happy at first but they got over it. Photos by Noonie Fortin.
